Important Information about Parade Participation:
The Millersville Community Parade is now one of the largest and most dynamic
parades in the Susquehanna Valley. Last year's march included nearly 150 entries and
thousands of people. Everyone is invited to participate in the Millersville Community Parade.
Participation is free for most entries and competition is optional.
Because the Millersville Community Parade is growing bigger with each passing year, submitting an entry
form by the stated deadline is important. The parade coincides with Millersville University's Homecoming
Weekend, so time constraints must be followed. The number of entries might be limited at the discretion
of the parade commitee chairperson, particulary for those seeking to register after the
entry deadline.
Any business that enters one or more vehicles in the parade will be required to pay $50 per vehicle.
However, businesses which lend their vehicles for use in the parade to pull floats or otherwise support
non-profit parade entries will not be assessed this fee.
The Millersville Community Parade does enter into contracts with some paid entertainment such as drum
and bugle corps, mummers, marching bands, etc. Anyone interested in entering the parade in this capacity
should contact the parade committee to discuss. Any group, musical or
otherwise, which requires payment for their participation in the parade, is not eligible to compete.
Everyone who participates in the Millersville Community Parade must abide by
these rules.
