Five Founders were: Virginia Lee Boyd Noell, Juilette Jefferson Hundley Gilliam, Calva Hamlet Watson Wootton, Louise Burks Cox Carper, and Mary Williamson Hundley

The colors of Alpha Sigma Alpha are Crimson Red to represent loyalty, Pearl White to represent fellowship, Palm Green to represent hope and immortality and Gold to represent wisdom and wealth.

Our four exemplars are Christ, St. Valentine, Hermes, and King Asa.

The aim of Alpha Sigma Alpha is to "have for its four-fold object the intellectual, physical, social and spiritual development of its members."

Our four symbols are the Star, Crown, Palm Tree and Phoenix.

The flowers of ASA are the Narcissus in the spring and the Aster in the fall.

Our two jewels are the ruby and the pearl.

We have two national philanthropies. The S. June Smith Center and the Special Olympics.

We have other ASA Chapters locally as well as around the nation. The closest chapters to us are:
Moravian College, Penn State University, Drexel University, University of Delaware, Wagner College,
Rowan University, SUNY Stony Brook, UMBC, Mansfield University, Bloomsburg University, and IUP.

We also have chapters as far away as Texas and Alaska!
