MUFG represents at Baltimore Fencing Center

MUFG President Hannah Emig finished 3rd of 32 (!) at Baltimore Fencing Center - Columbia, MD this past Saturday,
earning her USFA Rating: 'E-2009' in foil.

MU Fencers Bring Home Medals from Conference Championships

MU qualified five fencers to our conference championship event, held on Sunday, April 26th at University of Maryland-Baltimore County (UMBC).

The following fencers represented Millersville University:

Foil:
Kyle Ream
Hannah Emig
Phil Thomas

(Our foil squad finished the season in 5th-place this year!)

Sabre:
Josh Herring

(Josh went undefeated in conference events this season!)

Epee:
Trent Bankert

(Trent just started fencing in 2008 and has shown amazing progress so far)

The championship event is fenced as an individual tournament, in pools of 6 or 7 with 5-touch bouts, with 100% promotion into a direct-elimination table fenced at 15-touch bouts.

Reminder: No Practice this Friday

Reminder:
There will be *NO* Practice on Friday October 3rd!
It's FALL BREAK!!

Work out days - lets head to they gym!

We'd like to take this Fall as an opportunity to hone all our skills for
competitive success.
To that end, we'd like to begin heading to the gym (as a group) to use the
weights/machines as a compliment to our fencing practice times.

We will be taking note of *your* availability in order to plan work-out sessions,
as the buddy-system seems to help keep everyone motivated!

We're also looking for other activates to use as cross-training, such as:
cycling, jogging, weights, racquetball, tennis...
