Location & Directions

Location:

The Helen A. Ganser Library is located on the Northwest corner of North George Street and West Frederick Street in Millersville, PA. The library building is located almost in the center of campus.

From Harrisburg or via Route 283:

Take Route 283 East to the Millersville/Rohrerstown exit. Proceed south on McGovernville Road, which becomes Rohrerstown Road (Route 741) at the Route 462 intersection. Proceed straight on Rohrerstown Road.

From Reading or via Route 222:

Take Route 222 South to Route 30 West. Proceed West on Route 30 to the Rohrerstown Road (Route 741) exit.

From Baltimore or South via I-83:

Take I-83 North to Route 30 East. Take Route 30 East to the Rohrerstown Road (Route 741) exit. Turn right and proceed south on Rohrerstown Road (Route 741).

Proceed on Route 30 West to the Lancaster area. Take the Route 30 Bypass, following the signs to York, and proceed on Route 30 to the Rohrerstown Road (Route 741) exit. Take the exit, turn left and proceed south on Rohrerstown Road (Route 741).

From York or West via Route 30:

Take Route 30 to the Rohrerstown Road (Route 741) exit. Turn right and proceed south on Rohrerstown Road (Route 741).

From Lancaster City:

If you are coming from downtown Lancaster to visit the Millersville University campus, proceed west on Orange Street in the city. Turn left onto Charlotte Street and proceed southwest on Manor Street. From Manor Street there are no turns until you near the Millersville campus.
At the edge of Lancaster, Manor Street becomes Route 999 and, about three miles later at the Borough of Millersville, Route 999 becomes Manor Avenue. Follow Manor Avenue to the fork in the road and bear left onto George Street. Follow George Street for about three blocks to the Millersville University campus.

From Rohrerstown Road:

Proceed on Rohrerstown Road (Route 741) for about four miles (the name changes to Millersville Road after about two miles). At the traffic light at the intersection of Millersville Road and Route 999 (Manor Ave.), turn right. You are now in Millersville Borough. Follow Manor Avenue to the fork in the road and bear left onto George Street. Follow George Street for about three blocks to the Millersville University Campus.

Parking Information:

Parking is available directly behind the student union (SMAC) to the South of the Library.
