BIOGRAPHY:
Thomas Bird Mosher (1852-1923) embarked on a remarkable publishing career
in 1891 and became a central figure in the revival of printing that swept
America at the turn of the century. He was one of the first to make
handsome yet inexpensive books available by mail order.
SCOPE & CONTENT:
The collection consists of publishing materials, book lists, catalogue
order forms, reviews, correspondence, financial records, estate and legal
papers, personal items and photographs, ca. 1893-1929. A nearly complete
collection of works published by the press are catalogued and housed
separately.
